For the past few months, I've just been trying to get by. I've gotten divorced, moved into a new apartment, and started a parenting schedule. You probably don't know that I also work for American Airlines (summer is our crazy busy season).

Life has been very busy and full of personal challenges.

BUT - my friend Lucy asked me to do a workshop at her annual Halloween Spooktacular, and I just couldn't say no.

It was a bit of a struggle... but when my alter-ego "Emily the Explosion Box Enchantress" appeared, I felt like myself again.

It sounds strange, but when I got dressed up and stepped into her persona.... I felt creative again. I felt like the old, fun, creative Emily instead of the overwhelmed, struggling-to-figure-out-the-details Emily.

I wanted to personally invite you to Lucy's fun and special event: 🎃 The Great Halloween Spooktacular — a completely free online event celebrating the creativity of fall and Halloween paper crafting, running from August 11–30.

Halloween is still creeping up on us, but time has been flying so fast that it's going to be here in a blink of an eye. 🧿

I’ll be one of the ghostly guides sharing a project for this event — and on August 16th, you’ll be able to join my workshop: Drink Up Witches, where I’ll walk you through how to craft a magical scene with two witchy silhouettes gathered around a steaming cauldron. They're sipping a mysterious brew around the fire in this enchanting papercraft project.
